Rehabilitation Counselors
Special Requirements
Applicants for licensure as Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors must meet the following requirements:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a bachelors degree in education, health or human services from a regionally accredited college or university, or a diploma in nursing
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Applicants who do not meet the above educational requirements must have received 2,000 hours of training or experience in performing the services that will be offered to a workers compensation claimant
Experience must be documented and proof must be furnished.
EXAM:
Applicants not meeting the requirements for endorsement (the educational and/or experience requirements listed above) must pass an examination in ethical issues
It is a 25 question multiple - choice exam
Administered in Richmond every eight weeks
The first administration will be July 12
Applicants will be scheduled for the exam on a first - come, first - served basis.
LICENSE RENEWAL:
Certificate expires on January 31 of each year and must be renewed before this time

Renewal: $50
Exam: No Fee
